Qurum & Al Mouj beaches

Qurum and Al Mouj are Muscat's two easiest public beaches for photos — no resort access or advance booking needed, just open sand and, at Al Mouj, a marina backdrop nearby.

Qurum sits close to the city center and works well for both portraits and letting kids run around between shots. Al Mouj, a little further along the coast, tends to be quieter with a more manicured, marina-adjacent feel.

Both beaches face west, so the light in the hour before sunset is soft and warm without the harsh overhead sun of midday — and it's usually the most comfortable time of day temperature-wise outside the hotter summer months.

This is the most relaxed, lowest-effort location on the list, and pairs naturally with a Bar Al Jissah resort session if you want a mix of dressed-up and casual portraits in one trip.
